On a beautiful fall day I got the extreme honor to capture Brian & Terra’s stunning wedding day. It really was the perfect day. From Brian & Terra’s Calgary Sheraton Cavalier wedding ceremony that was stunning and love filled, and their adorable dog Sophie was their ring bearer. To their music themed wedding reception, it was 100% them from the start to finish! For their photos we went to Confederation Park where fall was in full swing and could not have been more stunning. The yellow leaves against the blue and purple of their wedding colors was beautiful. We also made a quick stop for photos at Scottsmens Hill, which just happened to be the place Brian asked Terra to be his forever! So stinking cute! I also love asking couple more about their day and have them answer so below is some of their answers.

What advice would you give to future brides & grooms for their wedding day?

So many people told us to take a moment and savor the day. We would expand on that to say take a moment (hopefully alone) to just enjoy each other.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
Our biggest surprise of the day had to be watching the joy in our family and seeing how much fun they had.

What one moment will last with you both forever?
Being announced “husband and wife” and realizing I just married my best friend.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)
We spent a lot of time thinking about what’s important to us. For us it was music, which is why the cake specifically was so music orientated. We also wanted awesome pictures, which is why Canmore and the fall season were selected for our Wedding.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
There are too many to mention but Pinterest was a big inspiration for a lot of items. For me it was the spinning cake and record cupcake stands. For Brian it was the centre pieces with the LED lighting.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
Take the time and interview your vendors. If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. You probably won’t be happy with the end product or service so don’t be afraid to let one go in order to better the deal. We did this with the Venue, the DJ and the photographer and got excellent alternatives each time.
