As a Calgary photographer I made a pact with myself to take a photo a week for 52 weeks. This as a personal goal of mine, and I actually have done something similar back in 2014 but it was a click a day for 365 days. That was sheer insanity and exhausting so instead of the pressure of a photo a day a photo a week seemed much more manageable. April is my birthday month so I am a little biased about how much I love this month. As a kid, Im sure like most, I use to count down the days to my birthday. We had a tradition in… Keep Reading
I made a resolution at the beginning of January to take a click a week for an entire year. So far I haven’t missed a week of snapping but I have been seriously falling behind on blogging my clicks. So lets rewind a bit and head back into March were I was spending a lot of time out in the Rocky Mountains being a Canmore Photographer. Every time I make the drive out to Canmore for a session I forget how amazing the Rocky Mountains are. As the highway weaves in-between the mountain valleys and the steep jagged peak rise up on either side of you I remember why I… Keep Reading
February has been a great month in my a click a week photography series! When I finished my a click a day project at the end of 2014 I couldn’t even begin to process trying to pick up my camera everyday to continue on. However by the end of the year I was feeling refreshed and thought that a project52 would be much more manageable. Being a Calgary lifestyle photographer I have begun to realize that not every photo has to be something that is hugely thought out, or extravagant. Just capturing the small moments of the everyday can be just as beautiful. The first week of February I was… Keep Reading
At the beginning of 2016 I made the resolution to start a click a week for 52 weeks. I did a project like this back in 2014 but on a much larger scale taking a click a day for 365 days. I wasn’t sure I quite had it in me to tackle that again this year so decided a project 52 would be more manageable. Being a Calgary lifestyle photographer I love documenting everyday life as I see it. One of the amazing things about doing a Project52 or A Click a Day for 365 days is you get an excuse to look for these moments a capture that beauty! 2016… Keep Reading
Being a full time wedding and lifestyle photographer in Calgary I get asked all the time what’s in my camera bag. Well, today you get the answers to all these questions such as what camera I shoot with, what lenses I use, what else I have hiding in my camera bag at any given time. My camera bag is the amazing 2 Sues camera bag by Kelly Moore. I LOVE this bag and have use it every single day for the last 2 years and it is still in great shape. I love how sturdy the genuine leather is, the real metal buckle and zippers and how the inside is purple padded… Keep Reading
How do I even start to recap 2015?!? It was such an incredible year and my absolute busiest to date and I have all of you to thank for it! 2015 was also the year I made the big leap and quit my “day job” and went full time as a Calgary photographer. I could not be happier that I made this decision and am so proud to own and have built my company to the place it is!! In 2015 I have shot 141 sessions & 15 weddings, and captured a million amazing memories. I have also made and continued to grow relationships with so many wedding industry friends and… Keep Reading
I can barely believe it! I completed my very first 365 photography project. When I first stared this resolution to take a click a day for 365 days I wasn’t sure if I would be able to complete it. But I did!!! I am so proud of myself and would challenge anyone that wants to improve their photography or even just to document your life or your kids lives to do this project. It is so rewarding to look back over the course of the year and see all the amazing photos I’ve captured. My plan is now put all theses photos together in a book so we have it… Keep Reading
