Week 44/52 in my A Click a Day photography project we celebrated halloween with all of our friends and their adorable kids! We went out and went trick or treating with a large group of us and kids and it was so fun to see all the super heroes and princess run from house to house. While we were out a police truck drive by and was blasting Ghostbusters over their loud speaker which was so fun! This week I also tried my hand at a double exposure technique. For my first time I don’t think it turned out so bad! With everyday the days get shorter in light and the… Keep Reading
During week 43/52 Halloween was just around the corner which means that candy was lining the shelves (and I was eating WAY too much chocolate), people were decorating their yards with all things scary, and that we finally turned the furnace on in our house! Winter is officially upon us! I remember when I was growing up we always had to choose a Halloween costume that was one or two sizes too big so we could fit our snowsuit underneath. Usually by this time Calgary was under snow and kids were being pulled on sleds from house to house on Halloween night. I know I am thrilled that is not… Keep Reading
Week 42/52 in my a click a day photography project, that means there are only 10 weeks left until 2015! Which also means that there is only 9 more weeks until Christmas! Hard to believe. The weather is getting colder, the days are getting shorter and there is a need to always have a warm drink in my hand! haha We also celebrated Thanksgiving this week (one week late due to having family family in different areas of the country). It has been a great week and I am trying to savour all these moments because soon the snow will be here and running from warm house to warm car… Keep Reading
Week 41 was a fun one! It was thanksgiving weekend up here in Canada which meant a crazy amount of family sessions (which I love so doesn’t really even feel like work!). My hubby also planned a surprise dat night for us on Saturday night! We went and picked up take out and headed out of the city to watch the sunset over the Alberta prairies! Fun right?!?! It was also a great week because I bought a brand new toy! The Nikon D750! I have been eyeing up this camera ever since it came out and I was dying to get my hands on it! I could almost hear… Keep Reading
Week 40 of 2014 was a hard one in my household. This week my husband and I found two lumps on our beloved dog Kodi’s belly. We took into the vet the next day and had her check out. Turns out the lumps were attached to her mammary glands and the vet said there was a risk that it might be cancerous. 🙁 Hard news to swallow for sure! They took a sample of both lumps and told us it would be about a week to get the results. Then the waiting game started. Every time the phone rang my heart pounded wondering if it would be the call from… Keep Reading
Week 39 in my a click a day photography project series we once again backed up out bags and headed to BC for one last family weekend! The weather could not have been more beautiful and actually was even nice enough we spent both full days at the beach! For us living in Calgary this is unheard of cause we usually are back into our sweaters and scarves by the end of September! It was the perfect weekend and we even were able to sneak in our annual extended family photos while we were out there! Perfect way to end a busy summer!
Week 38/52 in my photography project was a fun one! I shot my last wedding of my summer season which was at the crazy beautiful Bonaterra Trattoira in downtown Calgary! It has this stunning patio that looks like you have stepped into the hills of Tuscany! Breath Taking! We also went to my parents cabin out in BC for one last summer hooray with the whole family! It was so nice to just relax and drench our bodies in the fading summer sun! It was the perfect way to end the summer!
Week 36/52 we were happy to be back in our own bed. A hotel bed can be the comfiest, coziest, biggest bed you have ever slept in but getting home and crawling back into your bed always feels better! I was also straight back into work shooting 8 sessions in three days. No easing back into work for me! It was great though, summer was slowing turning into autumn and the leaves with changing from their vibrant green to their stunning yellow! I probably could live in this in-between season forever. Still have the warmth and long days of summer but the beauty of fall! One of my absolute favourite times… Keep Reading
