Eric contracted me as he and his girl friend were planning a trip to Banff for a vacation. Katie has always wanted to come to Banff and see the Rocky Mountains so it was the perfect winter getaway location for the two of them. What Katie didn’t realize is that her bucket list vacation spot was also the spot she would say yes to the man of her dreams. Eric planned the perfect Banff proposal. At the top of a mountain, overlooking the town of Banff below, Eric got down on one knee and asked Katie to be his forever. I had the absolutely honor of witnessing the whole moment… Keep Reading
Dean & Kate are one of my amazing 2018 wedding couples and I can not wait for their big day! They both aren’t from Alberta originally, Dean is from New Zealand and Kate is from Tasmania and came to Banff together for a new adventure. We originally planned their Banff Springs Hotel Engagement Session a couple weeks ago but as their day came so did the sideways blowing snow and many many road closures. We postponed their session and I am so glad we did as we rescheduled for one of the most beautiful winter days. Kate works at the Banff Springs hotel so we started their session there, and then… Keep Reading
On your wedding day, your timeline can play a major factor in the types and amount of photos you will receive on your wedding day. The laughs with your wedding party, those romantic walking photos with your groom take time and can’t be rushed to capture them. Also when planning your day you have to keep in mind your location and the time of the photo portion of your day. If you want those bright, warm, photos, you do need to plan your photos prior to the sunsetting. On an all day timeline, I like to show up 3/4 of the way through your hair and makeup. This way I… Keep Reading
I get contacted quite often by clients that are traveling to the Rocky Mountains and want to book an engagement, family or maternity photos. And who can blame them. Those Rocky Mountains are pretty breathtaking. Adam & Alaina is a couple from Nashville and traveled to Banff last week to explore but they also wanted to book their engagement session while they were here. This is such a fun idea and I was honoured to capture these memories for them. Driving out to Banff it was absolutely pouring rain. Spring in the mountain is a little unpredictable. Thankfully for their Lake Minniwanka engagement photo session it did stay dry! Thank goodness!… Keep Reading
On a perfectly sunny Friday afternoon in late July Lealand & Patti planned the most perfect Rimrock Resort Hotel penthouse wedding in Banff Alberta. As each got ready for their wedding in separate rooms in the hotel the excitement built for them to become Mr & Mrs. They had picked Banff for their rocky mountain wedding for its stunning views, and can you blame them?!? From their personal church wedding ceremony at Saint Mary’s Parish to their intimate penthouse patio reception their day was breathtaking. Every moment was so full of love and every person there, all 30 of them, had played such an important role in there lives and… Keep Reading
On Thursday I got to tick another thing off my photographer bucket list! I got to photograph and witness Cameron & Jessica’s Banff Elopement! This was such treat and I was so excited to be a part of their intimate wedding day! At 12 noon on March 31st 2016 I met Cameron, Jessica, the officiant and his wife at the reservoir behind Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Surrounded by the mighty mountains peeks, C+J said “I do” after twelve years together and two beautiful children. Then it was off to Lake Minnewanka & Two Jack Lake for their wedding photos. It started out being overcast, but by the time we got out to… Keep Reading
In January I had the amazing opportunity to head down to sunny Mexico to second shoot with the very talented and uber amazing Monica from Red Bloom Photography. I am pretty sure we could not have had a better week more full of laughs but also photographing the most amazing beach wedding. Steven & Brandi’s Cancun Moon Palace Golf Resort & Spa Wedding definitely helped me tick off a want to shoot item on my photographer bucket list! Is there anything better the shooting two people in love with the warm sun on your skin and being barefoot? I think not! The grounds of this resort are unbelievable and feel like… Keep Reading
