Calgary Wedding Vendor Spotlight | Jacqueline Hoare Marriage Commissioner

Over the last 8 years of shooting weddings and capturing more then 100+ weddings I have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing vendors. One vendor that is crazy important to connect with and love is your marriage officiant. They are the ones that legally marry you, so of course it is important to have, but having one that fits your personalities and your wedding is also important. For this months Calgary Wedding Vendor Spotlight, I knew I wanted to feature a marriage commissioner. I have had the pleasure of working with so many great ones but I do have to say one of my favorite has got to be Jacquie Hoare of Jacqueline Hoare Life Celebrant – Alberta Marriage Commissioner. She is so fun, kind, warm and down to earth it is hard not to love her. I had the opportunity to chat her a little more about her business and how she got started this month. 1. How long have you been in business?
I have been a Marriage Commissioner Since 2007 . . . I am in my 11th year

2. What made you get into your career?
As a Chaplain in a Hospice for the terminally ill, people assumed that I was a minister and I was asked on occasion to marry couples. I always had to say no, then within a couple of weeks of each other, 3 couples had asked me to officiate their weddings and I took it as a sign that I need to add this to my role as a Life Celebrant. So I applied to the Province of Alberta to become a Marriage Commissioner, and I was accepted and I received my Appointed and here I am, 11 year later and loving every minute!

3. What would you say your style is?
My style is very Personal with a touch of humor . . . I create Ceremonies with heart weaving each couples love story into their ceremony!

4. Fun fact about you?
I’ve slid down a real fire pole . . . climbed all the way to the top of the ruins at Chichen Itza . . . I’ve cliff jumped . . . When I was in school I was ALWAYS in trouble for talking, and now I get paid to talk! And . . . I have a really fun last name!!!!!

5. What inspires you?
People inspire me, love, honesty, authenticity, inner beauty, dragonflies and brand new babies and puppies inspire me.

6. What’s your most memorable wedding you have officiated?
To choose only one Wedding after doing so many would be difficult because they each have been special in their own way. But there are ones that stand out for me . . . Like marry my little sister and her handsome groom, and my best friends daughters wedding, traveling by helicopter to officiate a Wedding in the magnificent Rocky Mountains, a magical wedding at Disney World in Florida and a romantic beach wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico . . . to a fabulous Pirate Wedding in Priddis with a pirate ship where the groom walked the plank and the bride arrived in a row boat!

7. If you were doing what your doing what would be your other dream career?
I honestly do not dream of having a different career . . . I am so fortunate to be living my dream career celebrating the lives people live! Although . . . I could see myself as a professional shopper!
