Week 21 was an interesting one! My hubby and I have been on the look out for a new travel trailer for this summer’s holidays. We ended up finding one at an auction site, the only kicker was that it wasn’t in our town, it was in a completely different province and 10 driving time away. Well, we placed a bid and won it! We are now the proud owners of a Mallard travel trailer! Then the plan to go and pick it up began. We packed out bags for the 10hr trip to Vancouver and the 10hr drive back home and the plan was to do the whole trip n 48hrs! We left early Sunday morning and pulled into Vancouver around 6pm. The next day was a little less uneventful. We got up nice and early to be at the lot when they opened. We saw the trailer for the first time, and it was perfect. There is nothing quite like buying something completely site unseen. We loaded up the trailer, checked all the lights, pilled back into the truck and the truck died! We sat there for 45 mins trying to get my hubbies truck started with no luck. Next it was to the phones googling diesel mechanics and tow trucks. Found a shop that had time to take us so we unhooked the trailer, grabbed our dog and hopped into the cab of the flatbed tow truck. Thank goodness we didn’t have to wait to long to have the mechanic to look at it and they had the problem diagnosed soon after. A couple hundred dollars more then we were planning to spend but we were back up and running. Went back grabbed the tailer, and started the 10 hour trek back to Alberta. By this time it was 2pm, 5 hours later then we hoped to leave. We decided to push through and make the 10hr trip back to Calgary that night. Around 2am we rolled into Calgary and to say the least we were exhausted but we were home! We are so excited about using the trailer this summer and the trek there and back just makes a great campfire story!

Love the first 3 photos on the right. I wish I could do a road trip like that. Whenever my husband quits his job and does full time photography with me, we’re going to do a 1-month road trip. Thanks for sharing!
