There’s something so special about getting to grow alongside the families I photograph. This sweet Strathmore family first reached out to me a couple of years ago when they were expecting their very first baby. Since then, I’ve had the absolute joy of capturing their story through so many meaningful milestones—first at their maternity session, then at baby Jaelyn’s newborn photos, and now once again as they welcome another beautiful little one into their family.
This most recent session felt like coming full circle. Walking into their home, it felt warm and familiar. Their love for one another was just as genuine and effortless as the first time I met them, only now multiplied with tiny feet and giggles echoing through their space. Lifestyle newborn sessions are always some of my favorites because they capture life exactly as it is in this season—beautifully real, a little messy, and full of heart.
They spent the morning cuddled up in their master bedroom and nursery, soaking in all the sweet newness. Big sister Jaelyn was so proud and gentle, and peeking at her baby sibling. Those moments in between—the snuggles on the bed, the soft smiles, the quiet way parents look at their babies—those are what make lifestyle sessions so meaningful.
Strathmore families like this one remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about taking photos; it’s about telling a story that keeps growing year after year. Watching families evolve, little ones grow, and new chapters begin is truly the best part of this job.
