Barrier Lake Engagement Photography ~ Dylan & Brandi’s Kananaskis Engagement

As I was driving out to the Kananaskis on Tuesday for Dylan & Brandi’s engagement session the sky kept getting darker and darker. I had my fingers, and toes and everything else crossed the rain would hold out until their engagement session was over. To say mother nature put on a show for us during their session would be an understatement. I am not sure I have ever seen clouds quite as dark or mean looking ever! Thankfully the rain held off until we were done our session, but it did make for quite the backdrop to their Barrier Lake engagement photography session. The weather also didn’t put a damper on how cute these two were. They absolutely rocked their session!

One of my favourite parts about getting to know my wedding couples is hearing their proposal stories. Dylan and Brandi dated back in high school but then went their separate ways afterwards. It wasn’t until a couple years later that they reconnected and started dating again. On their first date they went to McKay’s Ice Cream in Cochrane, so when Dylan was planning the perfect proposal he knew he had to go back to where it all started. Things didn’t go off without a hitch though as the weather wasn’t on his side for a motorbike ride to get ice cream. He connived her to go anyways anyways and outside McKay’s he got down on one knee and asked Brandi to be his forever!! So stinking cute!! Thank so much for being troopers with me and I can not wait for your September Lake House wedding day!!
