This extended family session along the banks of Fish Creek Park was everything I love about fall photography in Calgary. The weather was warm, the leaves were glowing in every shade of gold and orange, and the light was soft and perfect as it reflected off the water. It was one of those days that felt peaceful and full of joy from start to finish.
This was my first time photographing this wonderful family, and I loved how close and easygoing they all were. What started as a family of four has now grown into a family of seven plus two adorable dogs who definitely added some extra fun. The girls now have husbands and families of their own, and it was so special to see everyone come together and make time for updated family photos.
I know how busy life can get, and it is amazing when families pause to capture this season of life, especially as everyone grows and new chapters begin. You could feel the love and connection between them in every laugh, every hug, and every playful moment.
The setting could not have been better. Fish Creek Park gave us the perfect backdrop with its tall trees, gentle river, and golden fall colors. The dogs happily explored, the families shared stories, and we ended up with a mix of classic portraits and sweet candid moments that tell their story perfectly.
Extended family sessions like this are such a beautiful reminder that no matter how big a family grows, there is always room for more love and memories.
