February has been a great month in my a click a week photography series! When I finished  my a click a day project at the end of 2014 I couldn’t even begin to process trying to pick up my camera everyday to continue on. However by the end of the year I was feeling refreshed and thought that a project52 would be much more manageable. Being a Calgary lifestyle photographer I have begun to realize that not every photo has to be something that is hugely thought out, or extravagant. Just capturing the small moments of the everyday can be just as beautiful.

The first week of February I was swamped with editing and client meetings so my office was where I was; coffee shops, the kitchen island, and my car pretty much anywhere and everywhere! Calgary Lifestyle Photographer

The second week of February is a special one in out household! Back when my husband and I were only dating we decided that Valentine’s day wasn’t a day we felt like we wanted or needed to celebrate. We both felt like our love should be shown throughout the year not just specifically on a man made holiday. With all that being said we did like the idea of having one special day that was special just to us, thus National Pizza Day came about. February 9th of every year is National Pizza Day and a day all our own. This is where we do whatever we both want to do together and of course ending with eating pizza. We also rarely exchange gifts this day because we both agree that we would rather have experiences and memories then tangible items. My amazing husband did home home with my absolute favorite flower tulips! What a sweet sweet man!

The third week of February I got to shoot at one of my all time favorite locations just outside of Calgary. We are so blessed to live to close to the Rocky Mountains and sometimes take it for granted. Elbow falls is just outside Bragg Creek west of Calgary and it truly is a stunning location. The Elbow River flows from the Rocky Mountains and ends up joining with the Bow River in Calgary, but not before it goes through this stunning area called the Falls. I love just standing and watching the mist sparkle in the sunshine as the water tumbles over the rocky falls! It really is stunning!Calgary Landscape PhotographerMy last photo of the month was of my very high maintenance fur baby Kodi! She is a Shiba Inu, and typical of the breed she is more like a cat then a dog. This photo was only take after an hour of bribing her with dog treats and peanut butter to get her to at least look at me fore more then a minute. She really is the sweetest dog but man if she doesn’t want to do what you are asking her, watch out cause she will pull out her inner cat like diva!
