Calgary Studio Extended Family Photography Session at The Gallery Studio

There is something truly special about photographing families who continue to invite you back to capture new chapters of their story. This Calgary studio extended family photography session was especially meaningful because it was for a wonderful returning client I had the pleasure of photographing twice earlier this year, first for her maternity session and then again for her newborn photos. This time, the whole family came together for a Boxing Day extended family session at The Gallery Studio in Calgary, Alberta. It was such a joy to document the love, laughter, and connection they share.

The Gallery Studio provided the perfect setting for this session with its bright, clean space and soft natural light. The simple, timeless backdrop allowed the focus to stay on what matters most, the people and the relationships between them.

From grandparents to new parents and sweet little ones, this session was full of genuine moments. There were warm hugs, big smiles, and quiet in between interactions that truly showed how close this family is. Extended family sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate multiple generations together, especially during the holiday season when everyone is already gathered. Boxing Day turned out to be the perfect time to create lasting memories. What I loved most about this session was how naturally everyone connected with one another. Grandparents proudly holding their grandchildren, siblings laughing together, and parents soaking in these fleeting seasons of life made every moment feel heartfelt and real. These are the kinds of images that become treasured keepsakes. They are not just photos for today, but memories that will be cherished for years to come.
