I am absolutely bursting with excitement to share this stunning winter maternity session with you! When David and Julia reached out to me, they knew they wanted to capture this incredible time in their lives outdoors while embracing the natural beauty that only a Calgary winter can provide. As a specialist in Calgary winter maternity photography, I have a special place in my heart for clients who include their pets because they are such an integral part of the family story. We headed to one of my favorite wooded trails just on the outskirts of the city to create these images. This location is perfect for capturing the quiet magic of the season and it provides such a timeless and organic backdrop for those classic outdoor portraits. Julia looked absolutely radiant in her soft lavender cardigan which was the perfect contrast to the deep emerald tones of the evergreen forest and the sparkling fresh snow on the ground. David was so attentive and loving throughout the entire shoot and you can truly see the anticipation and joy written all over their faces. Then there is Bailey! Honestly, is there anything cuter than a golden retriever in a plaid bandana? He was such a good boy and wanted to be in every shot to make sure he was right by Julia’s side to protect his soon to be human sibling. While we made sure to capture plenty of moments of just the two expectant parents, the shots of all three of them together are some of my absolute favorites. It is a snapshot of their final weeks as a trio before their world is delightfully turned upside down. I am so honored that David and Julia chose me for their Calgary winter maternity photography and I am so happy I could help them document this milestone.
