Just after Christmas I had the amazing opportunity to head down to Puerto Vallarta with the crazy talented Monica from Red Bloom Photography to second shoot one of her incredible 2017 couples, Mike & Alaina. If you haven’t heard of Red Bloom Photography go check out her stunning work ASAP you will be left speechless. I have been lucky enough to second shoot a bunch of weddings with her, but my two favorite have to been our last two destination weddings. I always have to pinch myself when I get the chance to travel, photograph stunning couples and I get to do this all as my job!! Mike & Alaina picked the cutest resort down in Mexico. The Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta is set right along the sandy banks of the Pacific Ocean but also close enough to town where you could easily jump in a taxi and be right downtown in 10 minutes. It really was the perfect resort for their big day. They planned for their emotional ceremony to be on the beach just before sunset, and as Mikes Daughter ran down the aisle and jumped into his arms there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Including mine!

It isn’t often being a Calgary photographer that I get the opportunity to shoot at sunset along the ocean. I have to say it was one of those moments where the sun was the perfect golden color setting into the water that made my photographer heart flutter! Mike & Alaina just simply fit. As Mikes arms wrapped around Alaina you could feel the love these two shared for each other. It was like there was no one else around. Just the two of them, two hearts beating as one.

A reception where I can be barefoot on the beach is perfection in my books! Strung from palm trees over top of the dance floor were many strands of fairy lights which added the perfect amount of light. As they danced their first dance fireworks sprayed from the four corners of the dance floor for a sweet surprise for the newly weds. Each and every detail of their wedding was perfectly planned and perfectly them. Congrats Mike & Alaina your wedding day was breathtaking and an honor to be a part of. HUGE thank you to my amazing friend Monica for putting up with me for 7 days and for asking me to come enjoy some sun with you. You Rock!!

The resort was to die for and from every room we had the most stunning views!I loved the addition of lilies and greenery to the white linen archSeriously it was the sweetest moment watching Mikes daughter run to him.

Alaina was such a stunning bride!The beautiful bridesmaids!

Aren’t they a sharp looking bunch?!?Beach wedding just might be my favorite. Anyone want to hire me for anther one?!?Alaina’s lace dress was perfect for the beach.Can we all just admire this sunset and the beautiful couple?!? PerfectionFairy lights may be my favorite thing ever!!I loved the surprise fireworks as Mike & Alaina danced their first dance.
