With a new month comes a new month theme for my 365 photography project. January was details/macro, February was Black and Whites and March is “A Day in the Life”. This is by far the most challenging topic for me. Not having children I don’t have all those small, little, tender moments to capture. A day in the life of me involves a lot of coffee, editing/photo shoots, my adorable pooch (Miss. K), my handsome hubby and house renovations (that have been going on for the last 3 years). Nothing that I thought that was photo worthy. I have had to change the way I look at my everyday life. Those tender moments with my husband can be heart warming photos, those long walks with my dog can become adventure photos, and those coffee fuel ups can be food photography. If you are in a creative rut, take a step back and look at you life as a whole.
If you get the chance watch the movie “About Time” with Rachel McAdams, it will completely make you stop and think about your everyday life. The main character has the opportunity to live each day twice, once for all the stress and hardships the way most people live life, and the second time for all the beautifulness and quiet moments that most miss. I have decided that instead of just living, I want to be present; find the beauty in each day and capture those moments!

Love this post! I definitely feel you there — a day in your life sounds pretty similar to a day in mine and I’ve always felt the same way. Hopefully I can start to see the beauty in everyday stuff the way you have!

I really need to be more proactive about these types of projects.
